We are excited to introduce our latest international challenge: a 15-day adventure trekking to Everest Base Camp in Nepal, including a unique opportunity to directly engage with our programmes in Nepal, visiting schools and seeing Street Child’s work in action. This is one of the most budget-friendly Everest Base Camp treks available, achieved by closely collaborating with our in-country team and local guides. Our expedition promises not only an unforgettable adventure but also a chance to make a meaningful impact.
During your adventure you will meet our friendly team from Street Child Nepal and have the unforgettable opportunity to visit Street Child programmes. In Kathmandu you will experience Street Child’s tailored teaching interventions, such as 'Teaching at the Right Level' (TarL) and how we work with local partners like the Rotary Club of Yala, who support 28 schools in and around the Kathmandu valley. Furthermore, on route to base camp you will visit a Street Child supported school, where your fundraising efforts will directly impact the lives of children. Your fundraising will help Street Child provide 40 scholarships, covering the expenses of sending these children to school for an entire year, including essential supplies like uniforms and stationary. Each participant is asked to raise a minimum of £1000, with all funds directly supporting local partners and programmes like those you'll visit in Nepal.
The trek to Everest Base Camp, guided by an all-female, local team, promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Trek through some of the planet's most breath-taking landscapes and discover the heart of the Everest region. Through bustling villages and serene mountains, the 10-day trek will take you through iconic locations such as Namche Bazaar and Kala Pathar.
With limited spaces available for this brand-new challenge, join team Street Child today and get ready to immerse yourself in Nepalese culture, connect with local communities, and embrace one of the world's most iconic adventures. Join us on this extraordinary journey where adventure meets purpose today.
