Chris participated in commemorating fifteen years of Street Child at our photography exhibition, F I F T E E N, showcasing photographs taken by fifteen-year-olds around the world. He is dedicated to ensuring global access to education and has contributed to amplifying our campaigns on social media.
In December 2023, Oscar-winning actress Dame Helen Mirren, graced the front page of The Times, endorsing Street Child's Christmas Appeal with a poignant statement: “Education is the single greatest way to help children realize their fullest potential.” Dame Helen Mirren has been a fervent advocate for girls’ education in challenging regions like Afghanistan, and her endorsement of our Christmas Appeal underscores her commitment to our cause.
Television presenter and ambassador for Street Child, Nick Hewer, has supported our work for many years. Nick has contributed to Street Child in numerous ways such as hosting fundraising events and attending annual carol services and galas. Nick has also visited our projects in Sierra Leone, witnessing first-hand the impact of our work. He continues to support Street Child during our campaigns, using his social media reach to encourage donations and further support.
British-Nigerian boxing star Richard Riakporhe serves as a Street Child Ambassador. Having visited Street Child’s programmes in Maiduguri, Nigeria, Richard continues to work to increase awareness of the ongoing conflict in the country and to highlight the charity’s impact on children’s lives in Nigeria.
Model and television personality Penny Lancaster has been instrumental in raising awareness for Street Child in HELLO magazine over the past year, highlighting several emergency campaigns and events, including our rapid response to the Turkey-Syria earthquake, playing a crucial role in highlighting the need and rallying further support. Penny has also utilised her social media platform to encourage donations to our recent UK aid match appeal, ending January 2024.
Former professional rugby player Will Greenwood has shown support for Street Child by undertaking challenges such as The Annual Big Ride and the Sierra Leone Cycle Challenge. Will played a pivotal role in launching our Christmas campaign with The Times and Sunday Times, stating, “Talent is distributed equally but opportunity isn’t. I have always thought that it is everybody’s responsibility to create more opportunities.”

Countdown presenter Rachel Riley continues to support Street Child through fundraising and engagement in awareness-raising campaigns. She recently auctioned off a stunning Ukrainian flag-themed dress to raise money for Street Child’s emergency response in Ukraine.
